Essential Oil Vapor Shower Ball
What you will need:
2-3 cups Baking Soda
Water
Doterra’s Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Rosemary, and Lavender Oils or really whatever oils you would like to use
Put muffin liners in a muffin pan. Set aside.
Directions:
- Put the baking soda in a large mixing bowl and slowly add the water until it makes a thick paste, adding only a little water at a time while mixing it together. When it's the right consistency, it will feel like putty.
- Add 5-10 drops of each essential oil and mix well.
- Spoon mix into muffin liners. Only about half full. Pat down flat with the back of the spoon.
- Allow to sit out and dry for 12-18 hours.
- Alternative: You can also mix the paste without the oils, and bake them for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Then add a few drops of the oils to each cooled puck.
- Put these at the back of the shower on the floor and take a long hot steamy shower! The vapors will open you airways and clear out a head cold or stuffed up sinuses!
Essential Oil Fizzing Bath Balls
1 cup citric acid (you can find at your health food store as well as most grocery stores in canning section)
1 1/2 cup baking soda
Optional 1/2 cup arrowroot powder to thicken, but not necessary
½ cup oil (almond oil, olive oil, dōTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil, etc.)
8-10 drops of your favorite essential oil(s) (use essential oils according to what you would like! Use Serenity or Lavender for relaxation, Wild Orange for energy, Eucalyptus for decongesting, etc).
silicone mold, plastic eggs, or muffin tins or saran wrap
Optional: dried herbs or flowers, epsom salt, or non-toxic food coloring
Directions:
Put all ingredients in a bowl
Mix all ingredients together with hands or spoon until wet sand like consistency
Add other ingredients like nontoxic food coloring, dried herbs, or flowers, and epsom salt
Use saran wrap, plastic eggs or, mold to mold into ball shape
Let sit in mold for 24-30 hours
They are ready to use, drop in bath tub to watch fizzle
Chemical Free Deep Conditioner
2/3 cup Tablespoons Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Olive Oil
10 Drops of dōTERRA Essential Oils
Stand or Hand Mixer
A few great essential oils for your hair include: Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, Geranium, and Clary Sage. You can use one or all five of the essential oils in your deep conditioner.
Directions:
1 Put all ingredients in a mixer
Mix and whip it up.
Store in a glass jar
Use by applying to clean, dry hair
Let stand for 15-20 minutes
Shampoo it out
All Natural Luscious Body Butter
1/2 cup Shea Butter
1/2 cup Cocoa Butter
1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
1/2 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
15 drops Grapefruit Essential Oil
15 drops Wild Orange Essential Oil (or whatever essential oils you desire, citrus oils can cause your skin to be sensitive to sunlight)
Double Boiler
Hand/Stand Mixer
Directions:
- Place ingredients except for essential oils in a glass jar
- Fill a large skillet/saucepan with 1-1.5 inches of water. Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, add the glass jar to the center of the saucepan to melt and combine ingredients. Stir regularly until melting, 15 min
- Once everything is melted, remove from heat and let sit for 5-10 minutes. Add desired essential oils.
- Place in refrigerator until chilled.
- Once chilled, take out of refrigerator. With a stand or hand mixer, start on low and slowly turn the speed higher until the lotion becomes light and fluffy (around 3-5 minutes).
- Store in glass jar, in cool place. If needed, use a hand mixer or whisk to rewhip it up every so often.
- Use and apply liberally.
Amazing Lip Balm
1/2 ounce coconut oil (around 1 tablespoons)
1/4 ounce shea butter (around 1/2 tablespoon)
1/4 ounce cocoa butter (around 1/2 tablespoon)
10 drops Peppermint essential oil
5 drops Lavender essential oil
Large skillet/saucepan with water
Glass jar
Scale
Lip balm containers
Optional: To add a tint of color to your lip balm, add a pinch of colored mineral makeup.
Note: If you want a harder lip balm, add an additional 1/2 ounce of beeswax. For an even softer lip balm, add an additional 1/2 ounce of coconut oil.
Directions:
- Line up empty containers on counter. If you are using a lip balm stick, make sure it is twisted down to the bottom of the tube.
- Add ingredients without the essential oils to a glass jar.
- Fill a large skillet/saucepan with 1-1.5 inches of water. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, add the glass jar to the center of the saucepan to melt and combine ingredients, stirring every few minutes.
- Once everything is melted, remove from heat and let sit for 3 minutes. Add desired essential oils.
- Pour into lip balm containers and let cool and harden.
- If you want to add color, add a little bit of mineral makeup to the mixture before pouring it into containers, then let it harden and cool.
- You are done!
