BUT...we did have one episode...
I wrote a post a little bit ago about what oils we brought to fly and travel with us. There were many times I wish I had more out with me! But we used what we had a lot as we traveled around. And amazingly, even with all the traveling, airplane rides, rest stops, long car rides, junk food, hotel rooms, etc...we didn't get sick!! The youngest threw up one night from some not-so-good food she ate, along with a bit of a runny nose in the beginning of the trip, but we all did GREAT! I think this was the first trip where none of us got sick from all the exposure plus just the exhaustion. So thankful for these oils!
BUT...we did have one episode...

I am so excited! DoTERRA just had it's annual convention, and they just released their new products!! I can hardly wait to get my hands on them.
So here is a quick summary of what they are:
doTERRA is coming out with a NEW Home Essentials Kit, probably my most popular . For $275.00 they are still giving the same main oils, but they are upgrading the size of Frankincense from a 5ml bottle to a 15ml bottle size. AND they are adding their new petal diffuser to every Home Essentials Kit! This is a $86 savings vs getting these oils individually.
The oils in this kit are: Frankincense Digestzen Lavender Breathe Lemon On Guard Melaleuca Oregano Peppermint And Deep Blue (5 ml) I'm super excited about this change, as Frankincense is one of my ulitmate favorite oils, and is seriously like liquid gold. The 5ml bottle of this just goes way too quickly. PLUS having a diffuser right away with your initial order is a huge benefit to learning how to use the oils immediately for your family's health. Well, we are back! We've moved into our new home in Charlotte, Jason started his new job today at the hospital, the kids and I worked on some homeschool for my oldest who is starting kindergarten, and then we took a walk to the library right up the road. Now the little ones are taking their "naps" and are mostly quiet, so I can take some time and get some work done. :)
So starting out, doTERRA just had their annual convention this past week, so they have released their NEW products!! I am very excited to be highlighting one of them today as my feature oil of the week. This new doTERRA essential oil is called Arborvitae (I'm still trying to figure out how to pronounce that, haha.) Arborvitae is widely known in the homeopathic and herbal world. In fact, its therapeutic benefits have been known since the Native Americans first nicknamed this plant, the "tree of life." The chemical constituents of Arborvitae Essential Oil have anti-rheumatic, anti-infectious and anti-allergenic properties which have served as an expectorant, stimulant, astringent, vermifuge, diuretic, emmenogogue and anthelmintic. Considered to be a natural insect repellent, it has been used to soothe both psoriasis and poison ivy. It is also known to be highly anti-bacterial, antiseptic because of its high level of ketones, and very nourishing to the skin. Arborvitae essential oil has a high content of tropolones, a group of chemical compounds that protect against environmental and seasonal threats, have powerful purifying properties, and promote healthy cell function. Hinokitiol, one of the tropolones in Arborvitae, protects the body from harmful elements while supporting normal cell activity. This compound also contributes to Arborvitae’s natural insect repellent properties. Thujic acid, another tropolone found in Arborvitae, has been studied for its ability to protect against common threats in the environment. Native to Canada, all parts of the Arborvitae tree were used extensively by Native Americans for health benefits, including stomach pain, rheumatism, coughs, and heart trouble, and for building vessels, totem poles, baskets, and clothing. USES Apply 1–2 drops to areas of concern on the skin. Add a few drops to a spray bottle with water and spray on surfaces or hands to protect against environmental threats. Apply to pulse points to promote healthy cell function. Diffuse to purify the air and to repel insects inside the home. (caution: do not over-inhale; inhaling for an extended period of time may cause respiratory irritation). Mix 4 drops of Arborvitae essential oil and 2 drops of Lemon essential oil for a natural wood preservative and polish. DIRECTIONS FOR USE Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice. Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with dōTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil to minimize any skin irritations. Caution: Do not use while pregnant. We did it!!! We did the crazy thing (for a second time in our lives) and moved from beautiful Hawaii to the mainland. Let me just interrupt this to say, we may be kinda quiet on the blog writing side of things for just a little while longer. ;)
We took a total of 8 bags/boxes, 4 carry on's, 4 back packs, 3 car seats, one stroller, three kiddos, and toys to spare and boarded three different flights (spending the night in an airport hotel in between two of them.) We have arrived at our first destination after those three flights, where we are spending time with my brother and TRYING to find a car to buy that will be big enough to carry all of our stuff to our final destination 12 hours away. Yeah it's been an interesting few days. So since living out of bags is my current life right now, I thought I would write about what I am doing right now...haha which is how I'm using my oils for our family's wellness in the midst of our craziness! This includes my personal list of what I took on the airplane in our carry-on. And let me just say, these are the oils we will be using for the duration of the trip, as I REALLY don't want to go digging around for the rest that is currently boxed up. So here it is, what I brought, and why: First is pretty obvious: On Guard. (duh ;)). And why? Well because I definitely don't want any of us to get sick while we travel and fly in those nice recycled air cabins! But also because three of us started feeling sick right before we were getting ready to fly. It seemed like we were coming down with a sinus cold, so I started applying On Guard topically all over all of us right away, like religiously. And so far, we all seem to be doing great! We kicked that bug by the time we got to Kansas City. Second: I actually brought one undiluted On Guard, in a small 5ml bottle, and a roller bottle of diluted On Guard, Melaleuca, Lemon, and a little bit of Oregano. The roller bottle, I used on the kids and us, on our feets, back of necks, lymph glands, etc. The undiluted On Guard, I've been saving for any stronger antiseptic use I need it for. Third: I brought K's personal blend that I've mixed for him for allergies and breathing issues. I've been rubbing it on nightly just in case on this throat, and back of neck and lower sinus areas. It is a carrier oil, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, and a tiny bit of peppermint. Fourth: Digestzen. For any tummy issues we may encounter while eating junk traveling food or nauseousness while flying or driving. So far, we haven't had to use it. Fifth and Sixth: Lavender and Serenity, I actually didn't plan well enough ahead and buy another bottle of either of them like I thought I had. Thus I ran out last night of both! But these are my absolute necessary oils to have. One, Lavender, I use for any skin issue or rash that may pop up, or any pain or inflammation. And second, I use both for helping my kids adust to the time change and sleep. I don't have any tonight...and let's just say you can tell the difference, and I am very much regretting it that I ran out. Seventh: Breathe, because we had started getting sinus colds, and needed to combat that, but also in prevention of any respiratory illness that may try to come. I used it diluted for the first few days of our travels, and haven't needed to use it yesterday or today! Eight: Frankincense, because I really wouldn't want to go anywhere without this one. I was having some intense stress nerve pain in my face and jaw, and so I began using the Frankincense on that. It was the only thing that even made a dent in the pain. Thankfully, I haven't been having that pain at all today! I also have it available for if we encounter anything, from a bump, cut, rash, or bruise, pain, inflammation, to anything a little more serious, or just if I need a driver oil to help make any other oil I use, more potent. Nine: Melaleuca, I brought this along because I use it in my owie spray, and I had forgotten to make more before we left (the ingredients are lavender, melaleuca, and coconut oil). So I brought it to dilute and use if we need it's antiseptic properties for anything. And lastly...Clary Calm. This is my oil. I brought it along to help with my hormones, emotions, and any menstrual cramps I may get while we travel. Not leaving home without it for sure!! Now there is one oil, that I thought I had grabbed but didn't, and I regret it - Balance. And obviously, I probably could use it right about now. Oh and you know what else, Intune or Peppermint probably would have been good to add for our upcoming road trip for focus. ;) Oh well! I think we did pretty good with our carry on essential oil list. How would you change this list? September has started!!! Happy Labor Day everyone! As most of you know, our family is moving to a new state, and we will be spending the next couple weeks traveling around, visiting our team members, and doing doTERRA essential oil classes before settling in our new home in Charlotte, North Carolina area. Hawaii is primarily our home, so we will be back I'm sure. :) In the meantime, for my team members here and for those who are interested in local classes in Hawaii, I am leaving them in the great hands of my local business partners! It's so amazing to have a wonderful team here that I've been privileged to grow and learn with. There will still be local classes here in Hawaii happening every couple weeks, to please contact me if you would like to come to a class and learn more about essential oils.
