- Lavender: Analgesic and antiseptic (great for cleaning as well as a gentle pain reliever)
- Helichrysum: Hemostatic, Tissue Healing, and Scar Reducing (Use Helichrysum to stop bleeding if necessary, and as the wound heals to prevent scarring; Lemon and Geranium also have hemostatic capabilities.)
- Melaleuca: Antibacterial and cleansing
- Frankincense: Antibacterial, Tissue Healing, and Scar Reducing
Owie Spray Recipe
10 drops Melaleuca
10 drops Lavender
5 drops Frankincense
Fractionated Coconut Oil or Other Carrier Oil (i.e. Almond Oil)
1 oz glass bottle with spray top
- Place essential oils in empty glass bottle
- Add carrier oil to fill the rest of the bottle.
- Insert spray top and secure tightly.
- Shake well before each use.
- Spray directly onto cuts, scrapes, rashes, bites, and itchy spots. (Try to do this at least several times each day until the affected area is healed.)
Scar Reduction Blend
- Using a roller bottle (typically 1/6 ounce) add 6 drops each Helichrysum, Frankincense, and Lavender.
- Add Vitamin E oil (empty 6 capsules)
- Fill the remainder with a carrier oils.
- Roll on the area 2 - 3 times a day.
1 glass jar (a couple old baby food jars are good)
1/2 cup of coconut oil
20 drops of Lavender
20 drops of Melaleuca
10 drops of Lemon
10 drops of Frankincense
1/4 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil
- Heat up the Coconut Oil on the stove until it is liquid.
- Let it cool slightly
- Add the oils and stir
- Pour into jars and seal
- Let cool and use as an antiseptic ointment on cuts, rashes, bites, and eczema.
Ongoing: Repeat application of the antibiotic oil every 4 to 6 hours till possibility of infection is passed. Helichrysum applied regularly during the healing process will reduce or eliminate scarring.
