April Specials Well April started, so time for our monthly announcement of what is new! They always give a free product for someone who is on Loyalty Rewards (the autoship program) and buys 125PV by the 15th of the month. This month that free product is Lime essential oil, which I'm excited to try. I have heard it is great for anything respiratory, and is great for sinus infections. It is also supposed to be very helpful for joint pain. And as are most citrus oils, it is also great for cleansing, both topically, and internally. You can use it for cleaning, insect bite, odor dispelling. On top of that this month, they have another special. They have extended the Deep Blue Promo until April 15th! You don't have to be on the Loyalty Rewards autoship program for this one, so even new enrollees can get it. Basically if you order 200pv of products by April 15th, you receive free, a 5ml bottle of Deep Blue AND Deep Blue Rub as well, which is over a $80 retail value. We LOVE both Deep Blue, the oil, as well as the rub. I use them both, and they work WONDERS! For new enrollments, that looks like ordering the Home Essential's Kit or above, which is my favorite beginners kit anyway, because it gives you all the basic essential oils, including Frankincense which is normally extremely expensive. So if you enrolled with that kit by the 15th of April, you'd also get the Deep Blue oil and Deep Blue Rub free! And the final special of the month is 10% off of Digestzen! This is one of Jason's favorite oils! It is amazing for all things digestion related, from heartburn, indigestion, acid reflux, ulcers, gastrointestinal pain, etc. Digestzen has Ginger, Peppermint, Tarragon, Fennel, Caraway, Anise, and Coriander in it. Schedules And the final thing we've been working on is our April Schedule and promos for hosting classes. Currently we have one class scheduled for sure. April 8th, 6 pm at the Kona Nazarene Church. It will be hosted at the La Leche League Meeting. The topic will be Keeping Our Kids Healthy! We have other classes coming up here in Kona too that are being finalized! We also have some upcoming classes in San Diego and Kansas City scheduled. There are also opportunities for classes in other towns and cities across the United States, so contact me if you are interested. Our website www.essentialoilhealthhawaii.com will have the updated schedule. Hosting Promos And we are still having promos for hosting classes! With that we are giving away a free 5ml bottle of Lemon oil for anyone who hosts a class, a free roll-on bottle of Lavender oil for someone who hosts and at least 5 people show up, and a free 5 ml bottle of Wild Orange for someone who brings a friend or refers someone, and they enroll! I'm super excited about these promos! I wish I had gotten some free bottles of these oils when I first was starting out! So contact me if you want to come to a class or especially if you want to host a class! And on top of that, I'm sending out samples too...so if there is something you are dealing with, insomnia, sickness, back pain, headaches, digestive issues, and you want to try some essential oils, OR, you just want to compare doTERRA essential oils to an essential oil you already have, let me know, and I'll get one out to you. Wow! I never realized staying on top of a blog was a lot like suddenly having another baby in the house! Sheena and I have been super busy behind the scenes, setting up our website, working, making sure our kids don't throw each other off the top of the slide in the backyard- you know, the usual. Next time remind me to set up the blog, after we do all the other things for the business. That way, I won't just keep typing and saying, "Uh huh, uh huh, put the lavender on it" when my kids run to me with rocks sticking out of their head after flying off the slide. Anyway on to the lighter stuff! I started a series called "So Why...?" beginning with Part I, "So why MLM". Then Part II was an answer to why doTERRA fulfills the five qualifications necessary for any business Sheena and I would start called "5 Reasons". Part III will be "So Why Doterra?", and will be the foundation of the series, about why we chose this company. There will be nothing more important than this so stay tuned! Until then ( aka my next day off ), here's something to get your brain juices flowing (I know I've been leaning heavy on the analytical side, I really do have a creative side ). I want you to think of a scenario. Say we met on the street as you're shopping for groceries or getting your oil changed, or trying to stop your children from pushing each other off the top of the slide at the park, and I said, hey I'm that doTERRA guy, I really want to change your life so here's a choice for you. I show you a briefcase that has $1,000,000 in it, and lay it in front of you. But then I reached into my pocket and pulled out a plain old penny. I tell you, you can either have this $1,000,000 flat out, or I will give you this penny right now and double it every month for the next 2 1/2 years, what would you choose? It'd be tough not to take that briefcase! But if you took the briefcase you'd be missing out big time. It would be the easy way out. If you chose the the humble little penny, at the end of the end of 21/2 years I'd be giving you $10,737,418.24. What if you chose the penny and one year later I asked you if you wanted to stop? At that point the little doubling penny would be a whole $40.95. Almost enough out for a date for you and your spouse. LAME. The temptation to forget about my offer would be very real, simply because it might feel like you're going nowhere, fast. After a year and a half of waiting since we first met, would it then be worth it to you to stop? You would have waited that entire time since our first meeting with almost no result. I would give you a check for $2,621.43 at 18 months. You would probably be getting tired of this little game. But if you were patient and persevered, and eventually reached the 30 months, you would be have made the best choice you could have ever made. Ok, so? How does this apply? When you choose something that inherently is set to grow (and grow, and grow), you choose the wiser thing. It is something of lasting value and unending reward. If I could guess where Sheena and I are in this little analogy, I would say we are at about month 2 or 3. But we love the oils, we believe in ourselves, and we believe in the company. All we had to do was say, "Let's try." That instantly set us apart from the crowd who is ok with life the way it is. It's just a seed right now. No one walked up to us offering us a million bucks or a penny, nonetheless, Sheena and I saw that we had the equivalent of that choice to make. But even the smallest seeds can grow to be the largest trees. This is doTERRA's monthly payout. Notice the doubling effect per level, from doTERRA's payout for the month of last August. And as you can see, the averae timeline to get to Blue Diamond or Presidential Diamond is 31-37 months. Click below to like, pin, post, tweet, or share however you like! Well, it's been quiet from this end. Mostly because we have had a busy weekend celebrating our daughters 2nd birthday! That was a blast! I think I possibly had more fun than the kiddos. But in the midst of the fun, we've also been busy with some exciting stuff. Ready... Our BRAND NEW website! www.essentialoilhealthhawaii.com We basically wanted a place where people who are interested in learning more about the particulars of doTERRA Essential Oil Products, the company, the business side, how to enroll, get class information, etc, could go and find all that good stuff. It's still a work in progress for sure, but it's a good start. March Specials Well March started, so doTERRA came out with their monthly specials. You can see them in a little more detail on our website, but basically, I'm pretty excited about it. They always give a free product for someone who is on Loyalty Rewards (the autoship program) and buys 125PV by the 15th of the month. This month that free product is Purify, which I'm excited to try. You can use it for cleaning, insect bite, odor dispelling. It has lemon, lime, pine, citronella, melaleuca and cilantro in it, all of which are some of my favorite oils. I can't wait to start diffusing it, or adding it to my household cleaners. But on top of that this month, they have another special. You don't have to be on the autoship program for this one, so even new enrollees can get it. Basically if you order 200pv of products in the month of March, you receive free, a 5ml bottle of Deep Blue and Deep Blue Rub as well, which is over a $80 retail value. I love the Deep Blue blend for my muscles, so I'm excited to try the rub as well. For new enrollments, that looks like ordering the Home Essential's Kit or above, which is my favorite beginners kit anyway, because it gives you all the basic essential oils, including Frankincense which is normally extremely expensive. So if you enrolled with that kit, you'd also get the Deep Blue oil and Deep Blue Rub. Schedules And the final thing we've been working on is our March Schedule and promos for hosting classes. Basically it looks like our schedule is going to be March 7th at 6 pm, March 12th, at 6pm, March 20th at 6pm, and March 24th at 10 am. Our focus during these classes is going to be how to use these oils for our families and our kids, and how to Remake Our Medicine Cabinet and Keep our Kids Healthy. There is just way too much sickness going around right now! Also I have had a couple people contact me about long distance classes, and yes, I am very willing to do a Skype or Webinar Class long distance. With that we are giving away a free bottle of Lemon oil for anyone who hosts a class, a free bottle of Lavender oil for someone who hosts and at least 5 people show up, and a free bottle of Wild Orange for someone who brings a friend or refers someone, and they enroll! So that's what we've been up to over the weekend and the last couple days. Busy, busy, busy, but having oh so much fun!! Good morning! Ok, for most of our friends who live in the mainland it's probably afternoon by now, but here in the Islands the day is just beginning! I have to give amazing props to my beautiful wife, Sheena. It's so much like a guy to be thinking that I would bring about this amazing change to my family by leading them to greener pastures (of course in the direction I thought best). But then this amazing change happens by getting introduced to dōTERRA , and Sheena is the one leading the charge. She's a ninja, that one; I should have known by now :) It's pretty humbling! Anyway, I'm not going to geek out till your eyes glaze over on this one. Short and to the point! On to the five qualifiers listed before for any business we'd start: 1. It would have to be able to scale easily. It can! In the effort of being as transparent with all our readers as possible, we have 50 people on our team. As more people share about dōTERRA it grows. That simple. We love the product and tell people, who tell people, who tell people... The cool thing is, if the product was no good people would not be telling their friends. End of story. Check out google trends chart for online searches for dōTERRA since the company's inception. By 2015 this will be a 7 year old billion dollar company. 2. No franchises. Although dōTERRA has an amazing structure of support, this is truly Sheena's and my company! We give classes when we want, talk to people when we want, come up with advertising like we want, etc. Yet the framework is already there, no worries for us. We don't worry about "setting up" anything. Distribution, customer service numbers, supply, manufacturing, is NOT on our to do list. 3. Large market. Check. Let's see... Healthcare. I talked with three coworkers at work the other day I had never talked to about dōTERRA before. One had a daughter with health issues, one had a bad sinus/respiratory issue, one had backaches after work. I was able to give samples of dōTERRA to all three. I am an RN. This is my joy! And lets see, do you have kids? Do you know someone with kids? Ever seen a sick kid? So much to offer that truly helps people. 4. Easy to enter market. Sheena and I decided to be a builder team and enter the business side of things (mind you, you don't have to start a business that's just what we did. You can get a membership for $35 dollars to get wholesale prices and never have to do or buy single thing after that). It cost about $150, which will be our repeating order every month. Now if we never enrolled anyone else and after a year we went down in a fiery, flaming, ball of glory- the end result would be $1800 out of pocket and a bunch of great product in our medicine cabinet and pantry. The average startup cost for a small business is over $30,000. Not to shabby for a worst, worst case scenario. In an ok scenario we share about our love of dōTERRA and five people in the whole year get interested and enroll. Then the $150 a month is covered and we don't lose anything and we still get $150 month in great product to put in our medicine cabinet and pantry. Now in a great, but altogether very reachable, scenario we are diligent, hardworking, and passionate about what we do and we share it often, then there is literally very little that can cap any type of upside potential. Plus we still have a lot of great product in our medicine cabinet and pantry! 5. It has to be something that both Sheena and I are passionate about. YES! It is exciting to see people have significant changes in their life and know you are a part of making that happen. We love seeing people connect with natural ways to benefit the body and change their lifestyle. It's something worth waking up for. And don't forget there's buttons down there- like it, share it, tweet it, pin it.
Thanks! Jason and Sheena I was not able to get to finishing the second part as promised in yesterday's post, but here is a link to a little video explaining the benefits of having a doTERRA business. I'll be diving more into my thoughts on why I think this is a prime business to be in tomorrow! (Urghm, lets hope so :)) Check out the vid and as always use the buttons- like it, share it, tweet it, pin it!
Thanks, Jason So why?... A series. Jason here, everyone. This is a round of posts that are going to come from the non-soap making other half of this blog writer duo! Most of my posts are going to be dealing more with the business side of our venture and the things that excite me in this journey. I want this blog to be a transparent place where everyone who reads or is interested can see why exactly we are doing what we do and how they can also follow the steps of a regular family of five in using doTERRA essential oils to remake much of their daily habits and lifestyle. It’s a great journey we’re on! So my first posts are going to be in a short series titled So Why?... going throught the reasons that Sheena and I have for starting this blog and business with doTERRA. Here we go... So why a MLM?- Part l Because! It’s not about multi-level-marketing (ugh, sigh, ewee, pyrimid scheme etc. etc.) It’s about why THIS COMPANY. Sheena and I (emphasis on I) have always wanted to have our own business. I have stacks and stacks of business magazines and articles that I’ve saved over my years in college, just waiting for the right time to take the leap. In that time I formed a few opinions that were the basis of qualifying any business we would start. 1. It would have to be able to scale easily. This is very important. I had my own landscaping company for a while when I was younger, but the biggest I would be able to get would be the region I could cover with my workforce. When you’re talking about an entire world of opportunity, one tiny region is very limiting. Trillions of dollars change hands between billions of people EACH AND EVERY DAY. Imagine being able to reach out to all those people with what you have to offer. It can happen with the internet. 2. No franchises. Franchises have a higher success rate than other small businesses but... We didn’t want to follow someone elses rules even if it brought success. That would be owning our own jobs, unless we got bigger and owned several. 3. Large market. While it’s VERY possible to have a niche market and create an amazing huge company (Duck Dynasty ring a bell?) I wanted to enter a market that was applicable to almost everyone. Dyson- vacumes, Zappos- shoes, Coca Cola- beverage etc. Do you know someone who does not drink or wear shoes or clean their house? 4. Easy to enter market. Cambridge Satchels was started by Julie Deane, in her kitchen with less than $1000. It’s now selling millions in satchels every year. If we started something, I wanted to have an idea and go with it. Lastly, #5. 5. It had to be something that both Sheena and I were passionate about. If there is no passion for what you are doing and excitement for the possiblilities and opportunities open for you in your business, then what is the point? If you don’t like your job, then you start a business you don’t like running and growing is there anything gained? This was tough though, because though Sheena and I fit each other like puzzle pieces, that doesn’t mean we’re the same puzzle piece! Fast forward to the present. We finally, joined with an amazing business leader named Tasha who, over several conversations, explained to us in detail what doTERRA was and how it worked. Sheena and I talked it over and decided it would be an amazing business at it’s best and a fun why not? experience at it’s worst. I love that part in We Bought a Zoo when Scarlet Johansen asks Matt Damon’s character, “Why are you doing this?” about his mysterious sudden interest in zoos, to which he answers with a smile, “Why not?” Sheena and I love living life with the freeing “Why not?” attitude, not by the leery “Why?” question. Since that time both of us have only become more and more amazed by the possibilities in this company! In part ll tomorrow I will go over why this is exactly what I, and she, were looking for in our life. Stay tuned! PS. These are some of the foundational thoughts I had and shared with Sheena a hundred times over in the past. If you’re interested in why we would want to start a business in the first place, leave a comment and let me know! Be glad to write something up on that, but we want this to be a reader sourced site, so you have to tell us what YOU would like to hear about! As always if you liked this, use the buttons! - Like it, share it, tweet it, pin it! Thanks, Jason |
